About QaiMa
قائمة: منيو المطاعم بالعربية والإنجليزية
QaiMa (from قائمة, the Arabic word for a menu or a list) is a menu studio for restaurants and cafés in the UAE. You type or paste your dishes once, in Arabic and English, and get a print-ready menu and a QR menu for the tables from the same source.
Why it exists
Most restaurants in Dubai end up with one of two menus. A designer’s file that looks beautiful until the first price change, after which someone edits it in a program they don’t know. Or a generic template from abroad where the Arabic is pasted in, runs the wrong way, or is missing letters because the font never had them.
QaiMa sits between those. The design decisions are made once, in fifteen templates, and the layout follows the content: add a dish and the page reflows, change a price and the printed file and the QR menu both update.
What we build for
- Arabic set properly. Right-to-left layout, and Arabic typefaces chosen to pair with each template’s Latin type.
- Files print shops accept. Exact millimetre sizes, 3 mm bleed, crop marks and CMYK PDF/X-1a, so the file doesn’t come back from the printer.
- UAE rules. VAT-inclusive prices, calorie and allergen fields, and dirhams by default.
- A QR menu that is the real menu. Not a PDF behind a code: a page that reads well on a phone, switches language and greys out sold-out dishes.
How we write our guides
The menu guides are written for owners doing the work themselves. Where a guide states a rule, it names the source: the Federal Tax Authority for VAT display, Dubai Municipality for calorie labelling, published research for menu psychology. Where a rule has changed or been postponed, the guide says so and tells you to confirm with the authority rather than rely on us. A guide’s date changes only when its content does.
