Why it looks the way it does
Gingham bands, olive sprigs and Lora, a warm bookish serif. Trattoria uses a zigzag layout that alternates dishes from one side of the page to the other, which breaks up a long pizza and pasta list and gives the page a relaxed, hand-set feel. A thin frame, a wave ornament under the headings and dot leaders to the prices finish it. It suits the menu that fits on a chequered tablecloth.
Arabic and English on the same menu
Tajawal, a modern Arabic face, stays neat inside the alternating columns where a more ornate font would crowd.
